Hi Guys,

My first post, but i`ve read a lot. Last week another member asked where was a good place to purchase a PC 7424. He/someone else suggested a web site. On that website there was information stating that the backing plate size must matchup with the counterweight installed on the unit to prevent unbalanced behaviour. The PC 7424 is sold with a 6`` counterweight to accomodate the 6` backing plate. However the SONUS Kit is sold with a 5" backing plate. This would therefore require installing a 5" counterweight. Has anyone done this? and if not has there been any problems with the mis-match setup. I recently bought the PC 6" and also the SONUS pad kit. Thinking of getting the correct counterweight.

Thanks, Clive.

Clive, I own the Sonus pad kit and 5" backing plate and I use it exclusively with the 6" counter weight with no problems. It`s your call, but I do not think buying the 5" counter weight is necessary.

Just my 2 cents...

You should be OK, but if you want to try a 5" weight later here is one source:

I *always* use the 6" counterweight with the 5" plate. I used to put the 5" counterweight back on when I used 4" pads, but I don`t even bother doing that very often- I just use the 6" conterweight for everything.

I have all of the Sonus pads (DAS and SFX) with the Sonus backing plate, and a 6" counterweight in my PC. Works just fine.

Since when is the 7424 sold with a 6" weight? The key difference between the 7424 and 7336 is the 7424 has a 5" weight and the 7336 has a 6" weight.
