We had our first really cold day in Jersey!!! I went to open my door and nearly pulled off the handle. A couple tugs later and I was able to get it. I saw something on tv where they said to treat the rubber seals with silicon. What do you guys use to prevent your doors from freezing shut?

It`s kinda tough when it did what it did yesterday and changed from 35° and raining to 20° and snowing in a half hour; all that rain around the seals just freezes.

Any kind of trim dressing may help, but nothing may have helped yesterday.

I have no experience with it, but would well waxed (with a very slick wax) door jambs help to pull apart the frozen part a bit better?

There is a link here on it .. Use the silicone spray or some other silicone lube..

Its common up here.
