Hey guys,

I need a small shop vac and unfortunitly in my underground condo parking I don`t have a power outlet near so I would have to move my cars to someone else`s spot when using the vac :nono so I was looking for a solution and I came across this at Home Depot. It`s a 2 gallon cordless and corded shop vac from Dewalt. Has anyone tried this vac? Should I give it a try or is it not worth it (considering you have to buy a Dewalt battery pack)?

Thanks

I was looking at one of those the other day. It may be one of the best cordless vacs out there for doing a car, but by the time you buy a battery pack (or two) and a charger it will be fairly pricey. If you use other DeWalt cordless tools and already have the batteries/charger then it looks a lot better. One advantage to this unit is it can run off of AC when youâ€â„¢re near a plug.

Here is a thread I remember reading that has some more info on this vac and some others:

I saw, comparatively, a cheapie Shop Vac brand rechargeable one at Wal Mart for around $80. Might be worthwhile to try what`s it like first before going with the more professional Dewalt, or you could use it as its "sidekick"
