Finish wiping all exterior windows vertically and interior window horizontally, that way you know which side of the glass the streaking is on.
Just thought I`d pass that along. :)

:doh the most obvious advice people (like me) tend to forget. I can make cars look great, but glass has always been and will always be my weak area :o

I have been doing that for several years now. Definitely nice to be able to tell which side the pesky streaks are on.
And I will "insert number here" that glass cleaning sucks.

Never thought of that. Good tip.
What`s even worse about cleaning glass is when your windshield is at such an angle so that even the world`s best contortionist couldn`t reach the bottom of the inside (ask any 4th gen F-body owner.)

Scott,
Do you watch DIY Network? They`ve been showing that tip on there a lot lately. It`s a good tip.

More tips, including that one, are available in the Guru Reports glass cleaner edition. All of them are a really good read and they are filled with good ideas. Another one is to use #0000 steel wool in conjuntion with glass cleaner. It greatly improves cleaning ability (don`t use on aftermarket tinted glass). Many more tips can be found in the 3 editions.
They also turned me onto Sprayway, which is easy to find at China-mart, cheap, and definitely one of the best glass cleaners out there.

Never even heard of that channel. I just have basic cable and other than South Park, The Weather Channel and ballgames, I don`t watch too much else.
I don`t even remember where I got that tip from, but windshields and back windows seem the hardest to get streak free and I`ve been cleaning windows that way for years. So much of a habit, I never really thought of it as a tip to pass along. For some reason, I thought of it today when I was finishing up a car and noticed a streak on the interior glass. My customer asked me how I knew it was on the inside and that is what made me think of it. :)
