Is this bad...I`ve never ever cleaned my windows (glass cleaner) I just wash them with the sponge like I wash the rest of the car. Does it make a big difference? Also what can I use to clean the inside since I have tint....

BTW, My windows seem clean and i never use any glass cleaner?

I really like Stoner® Invisible Glass:

You can usually find it at Wal-Mart, auto parts stores, etc. locally (and cheaper too). Works great and is safe for use on tint.

Next time you wash your car you may want to try clay on the outside glass if you want to get them really clean and free of any contaminants first. Otherwise, if your windows come clean from just washing thatâ€â„¢s OK.

Iâ€â„¢d be surprised if you donâ€â„¢t notice a big improvement when you clean the inside glass. The tint may be hiding some of the film that tends to build up on the inside glass. Use the Invisible Glass with a good MF and your windows will look great.

Thanks! For some reason I neglected cleanning the inside/outside of my windows for the past year or so. Can I use a paper towel on the window? and what about Windex?

Windex isnâ€â„¢t good for tint if it contains ammonia. Iâ€â„¢ve used quality paper towels in the past that did ok, but sometimes you run into them linting. I prefer using a low nap MF (micro fiber) towel these days, although in the past I have used crumpled up newspaper (donâ€â„¢t laugh, itâ€â„¢s an old tip) which works well if you donâ€â„¢t mind newsprint on your hands.

Hereâ€â„¢s a good link for window cleaning:

Follow HotRodGuys advice and get some MF`s from Excel Detail:

There`s nothing fundamentally wrong with windex unless you have aftermarket tinted glass. Glass cleaners that have ammonia will damage the film that`s used for tinting. Factory tints are OK because the tint is inside the glass. Ammonia is not all that great on other surfaces that you inevitably get overspray on.

Bon Ami Glass cleaner and Sprayway glass cleaner performed the best under tests and contain no ammonia.

Here`s my glass cleaning routine: I take Sprayway and spray it on the glass liberally take #0000 steel wool and scour the entire surface (don`t use #0000 on the tint side with aftermarket tint). Then I squeegy everything. After that I lightly spray again with Sprayway and buff with a Sonüs Der Wunder Polishing Towel (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-dwpt-2.html). Using this method, even the dirtiest glass comes clean quickly and easily.

I like using those blue Scott shop towels for my windows. Spray on IG, use one towel to clean, another to buff to a streak free, lint free finish. Throw em away when I`m done.

I find I can never get my windows spot and streak free (on the outside) when I clean em just washing. Pretty much given up with the mitt and just stick to IG afterwards.

Try detailers clay and then Invisible Glass (exterior) and Invisible Glass interior, you should see a marked improvement.

Caution: do not use products that contain ammonia, as it is very harmful to vinyl, plastic and rubber. It will cause plastic to â€Ëœyellowâ€â„¢ and become clouded and it will also turn Mylar (plastic) window tint purple.

~Hope this helps~

any glass cleaner from a store like advance auto parts is safe for tint, check the label it will probably say that there. 20/20 is a decent glass cleaner, any is good with the proper technique.

I would use a microfiber towel, but a paper towel is ok on the outside, I wouldn`t try it on the tint.
