If I were to get the PC 7424 (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/pc-7424.html) and the Dual-Action Pad Kit (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/tpspadkitda.html) from Autopia Car Care (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/index.html), would that be all that I needed to start detailing like a pro? There`s all these talk about counter weights, backing plates, and what have you. With those two kits, do I need to worry about having the right counter weight or backing plate or whatever, or can I just turn it on and go?

Specific links to what I could get in order to just start up the machine and go at it would be helpful and much appreciated.

Well, it takes more than the PC to start detailing like a pro?

Anyhow, here`s a link that should help you out:

My personal opinion is that the sonus pads (especially the cutting pad ) perform better .. But I dont use the bonnets in this kit at all..

I highly suggest the kit mentioned by sQuashed. I have tried various Lake Country pads and different counterweight/backingplate configurations and the Sonus polisher kit, IMHO, is the best and most complete kit available. You use the stock counterweight that comes in the PC, and the kit comes with the backing plate you will need and the pads. The only thing I suggest is getting an additional blue and green pad since you will usually use more than one of these to do a detail.

As far as detailing like a Pro, that comes in time my friend but hang around here long enough and learn as much as you can and you WILL be detailing like a Pro in no time. Good luck!
