From what I hear, the side mouldings on 4th-gen F-bodies are very easy to remove.

The 1st page he has them on, 2nd page they are removed.

The only thing I`m worried about is what the paint underneath will look like.

Any opinions? Here`s a pic of my car right now.

I don`t really see a huge difference with them on or off. Looks about the same to me. If you take them off and don`t like it, will you be able to get them back on??

With 3M adhesive, you can put them back on. I think I`m just gonna leave them alone for now.

Maybe you could try it and see if you don`t think it would be too much of a pain to get them back on. I think your car looks very clean as it sits. :bigups

I like the way they flow with your bumper lines.

However, if it were me, I`d take em off just to see how it looks and go from there :)

Do the side moldings cover up a body panel seam?
The matching body colored side moldings look fine to me. If the molding was black, then I would consider removing it.
On most cars, the molding isn`t at all objectionable and I think I would probably leave the original factory molding.

When I removed the side molding off my old Expedition I used high test strength fishing line. I wraped them between two fingers and ran it down between the body and molding. It was very simple. I then rotary then sides with Malco "Rapid Cut" to blend it in to match.
