I`ve seen a flyer from a local detailer (Clearwater, FL) that advertises using RIWAX products. There appears to be no mention of this brand using the search function ... does anyone have any experience or comments regarding this brand? Makes me wonder what they`re using ... just curious.

Thanks.

Site is riwax.com and there is a button to select language preference (including English).

Other than that, never heard of the products

I saw the same website, but it certainly doesn`t provide much information. It also looks like perhaps a franchise operation based upon the website I saw on the flyer:

www.riwax.us

I`ll have to chat with the guys the next time they come to our office complex as their`s is a mobile business.

Hey, I`m currently using Riwax stuff besides 1Z.

Riwax comes from Switzerland (ahh yesss, the home of Zymöl & Swissol!), and targeted mainly for volume users. They only have a handful of consumer porducts. However, they are good! They have lots of abrasive polishes (which break down mainly mechanically, not temp-sensitively - so good for PC), poly sealants, synthetic waxes, IFO cleaners, acidic paint cleaners, etc.

Here in Hungary, they are cheap. Priced @ around 12-20 US$ for a kg of polish. They don`t have Carnauba paste, but their polishes are wax-based. The diminishing abrasives break down quickly and finely. They offer polishes for light and dark colors (white/black pastes & waxes). They smell industrial, but when the solvents are gone, they are pleasant. Eeeerrr...

Oh yeah, the polishes are non-filling & non-concealing. They have

various filling products as well. They have a super creamy Hologram paste (oil-in-water emulsion), and they tend to favoring thick consistencies.

Their Hartwax is a layerable sythetic, and they have a super long-term sealant protectant called Titan Wax. I`ll get the full Titan manual next week, and then will try it on friends` cars.

...What did I miss???

Onemansopinion,

Was it a mobile detailer in Clearwater? Or a fixed location? (I was born and raised in Clearwater, before moving to NC 4 years ago)

Bence-thanks for the information! Nothing like the global reach of Autopia to find out about waxes most of us would never have heard of otherwise.

Any particular products you`d recommend trying?

Scott,

Sorry for reacting late, but the outage caused by the terrible weather in SoCal prevented me to write earlier. Here in Hungary Autopia was down almost 3 days.

It would be unwise from me to recommend any products without the basic comparative knowledge because I haven`t used so many products available in the States. But for me they worked more than fine!

I feel that they must be similar to Hi Temp. Industrial smell, but works good. The polishes are definitely worth the try! When you work them - even the coarser ones - long enough, they break down so fine, that they leave an extremely smooth RTW finish.

Sad, but the sales rep was (is) a classic buffer mark specialist. When I recommended him to prime the pads with a quick schpritz of QD or even distilled water, he sent me to warmer climates. Then, some 3 weeks later he told me that it worked! Less holograms! Now he must work the products a bit longer and then he would get an even finer finish.

Some of the products can be a LITTLE harder to remove (oily) but the finish is always good. They planning to introduce a clay, but they already have an IFO decontamination fluid (similar to Finish Kare). I did all of my work with PC, so I don`t know the rotary-abilities of the products.

Take a look to their website (either www.riwax.com or www.riwax.ch - the same)! Their English is bad, but you get the image. Lots of products... dressings, extractor-fluids, etc. etc.

I saw them first time on the Geneva Motor Show, around 1995-6. The cars on their stand were always meticulously prepped and finished. However, I didn`t care about them `til this year, when I saw their van. (FYI: That was AFTER I started to browse this forum! :D)

Oh I almost forgot! If you want to mail them, there is a friendly guy, Gabriel Oser. Sure, he will help. I recommended him Autopia & DC to browse.

Just out of curiosity, I took a look on the homepage of Riwax US., and it is working now! (www.riwax.us)

Pretty simple, but effective Flash environment, but not a lot of products yet. The popular ones are there, though.
