Well a friend of mine called me up today and asked to borrow the PC. I told him to just come over and I`d help him out b/c I was bored. :p So this is his car...

As you can see, we really weren`t going to worry too much about the car. It needs a repaint desperately.

So his dad apparently decided to go over the hood with some kind of "compound"... There were vertical and horizontal scratches that looked like someone forgot to buff off the polish. Oxidation was pretty bad too. I taped off half the hood (the sun wasn`t out so I couldn`t get a good before pic) and hit it with DACP and the LC yellow pad. After about 4 passes, this is what I got...

Here are some shots in the sun.

It looked alot better but there was some DACP hazing and just areas where the paint was not salvageable.

So that`s it for now. I`m going to step down to a lighter polish and maybe throw some Zaino on there just for kicks.

Cool stuff but you happened with the areas where the clearcoat was peeling off in huge flakes? How did that shape up?

I actually didn`t even touch the back end. I figure I could polish out the base coat, but it won`t last.

The owner is going to try to get his father to buy some paint and let us try and paint it ourselves. It`ll be a first attempt for me, so it should be fun.
