View Full Version : How long does it take you to QD?

When I QD my car, it usually takes me a good 20 minutes or more. I spray a door panel, use a MF to distribute evenly on the door panel, then wipe off with a clean MF.
It`s called a "quick detailer", but it doesn`t seem that much faster than washing the car.
Am I missing a shortcut here? Should I be able to QD the Maxima in 10 minutes with a different process?
I use a Calif. Car Duster (CCD) first over the whole car to knock off the majority of dust, and then spray on the QD. I don`t use a ton of QD so I spread and wipe off the QD at the same time. I`m going to guess it takes me about 10 minutes total, maybe a tad more....

Thats it `10 minutes 15 tops. When I spray and wipe I do 1/2 of the roof, 1/2 of the hood ,whole trunk , I spray one whole side and wipe it off and come back and wipe it agan. when Im done I go over the whole car with a dry m. f. towel. That s it , no time at all, of course I have a small car. Biggers cars and SUVs will take longer

About 20 minutes for my X. I spray and wipe off with one MF turning over when needed.

I spray and wipe off dirt, then buff with a new QD....20 minutes max for a Quad Cab pickup.....

it takes about 15 minutes for me...I typically use PB Spray & Wipe first.

15-20 min tops- CCD to get heavy dust off. S&W to remove any grime than Final detail for slickness. This is on an acura cl. There is no shortcut and rushing the process will just lead to a greater chance of adding micro marring / swirls. If it takes you 30 mintues to do a good job i wouldnt worry about it. :D
