Should I buy these?

My friend has 275/40/17 Nitto 555Rs on the back of his Cobra. One tire got a screw in it, and he`s getting it plugged today. They have about 5-7k miles left on them. He`ll sell me both for $100.

I can then sell my front tires (and put my new rear kumho`s up front), sell my BFG/stock wheels combo, and make some money in the process.

I have no worries about driving daily on drag radials, especially at this time of year, but will it be ok driving on a plugged tire? He said he`s going to have it patched from the inside. Will it be safe running at the track as well?

`96 with the LT1, so probably around 100 mph in the 1/4. 100 mph on a plugged tire. :dunno
In my case I would ask the guy I buy my tires from his opinion. He is a straight shooter and isn`t out to sell more than you need. If I remember, I will ask him what he thinks.

My bad, it`s not being plugged. It`s getting patched from the inside...I`m gonna go with him at 2:15 to have it done. Alot of people I know confirmed it`s safe and that they do it all the time trapping 115+ in the 1/4 on Nitto`s.
