Got my CCD this afternoon and tried it out. I washed the car last night and drove it today. Got about dusty and dirty as a normal day. Should the CCD be this dirty and how do I clean it. How oftern should I clean it. It looks pretty dirty to me for one use.

i`ve never cleaned mine...:nixweiss

but, you said you just got your today. i think the thing to do it to wrap the brush endin news paper for "X" amount of time so it can absorb all of the waxes and oils in the fibers. this keeps the duster form leaving streaks on your paint. (i still haven`t wrapped mine, which is probably why i don use it ver often.)

I`ve never cleaned mine either. It doesn`t need to be cleaned. Just shake out the escess dust after each use and it`s good to go for the next time. If yours is brandnew than you should`ve layed it on some newpaper for a couple days. The newspaper will absorb the excess pararfin wax so it doesn`t leave it on your car causing streaks.

Any opinions regarding the comparison between the California and the OXO dusters?

I love mine it works great and it 10x as dirty. In fact we have one at work we use on the tv`s and shelves and it works perfect and its almost black.

OXO all the way. Better looking, fits my hand better, if you drop it it wont damage the paint, seems to pick up more the first time, did I mention better looking? I hate red.

The dirtier it gets the better it works. Just shake it out vigorously after each use and it will be fine.

Hubbie has the CCD. I have the Oxo.

Prefer the Oxo for the reasons stated (seems to pick up better, better handle).

Never washed mine either. They recommend not because of the wax. If you feel compelled to, gently wash with Woolite/Zero.

I just got mine, and I noticed the same thing. California Duster claims that it works as well or better when it gets dirty.

So far I liked what I saw.
