Hello all!!

What a beautiful Cobra this is (triple black)!! The car is a one female owner with 23K  original miles on it. She`s bone stock and serves duty as a weekend vehicle. The car was in relatively good shape with just a couple parking lot dings and some light scratches. The interior was in great shape and was just dusty...looked like the top had been down during a few pollen seasons and had never been cleaned. The owner readily admitted it had NEVER been waxed but that her husband washes it a least once a month. He does a pretty good job as the swirls were very light. The thing that killed me with this car was road tar...particularly on the drivers side for some reason. Had the car had some wax on it I`m sure that the spots would have come off during the wash...but it hadn`t and they didn`t. :( Below is a description of the detail. Have I mentioned that I LOVE working on sports cars...sure beats Suburban`s and makes "owning" it during the detail that much easier!!! :D

Enjoy,

Mike

Wash with Meg`s Gold Class shampoo

Clay entire car with Mothers clay bar. As I stated above the car was heavily covered with tar and the clay took them right off with no problems. This clay bar may be a consumer product but I`ll be damned if it isn`t one of the best clay`s I`ve used. It`s soft, very pliable and just picks up contaminants like nobodies business!! :up

Polish with Meg`s #82 SFP with a Meg`s 8006 pad and my PC set at 5 (set at 6 on the hood and deck lid). For a car this age it had very few swirls. This combo knocked them right out.

Seal with Meg`s NXT with a Meg`s 8006 pad and my PC set at 4. I love this product on black...gives a very wet look.

NXT on the rims as well, Meg`s Hot Shine on the tires and ClearKote`s Vanilla Moose on all exterior glass.

I think that that is the leading edge of Ivan in the reflection as it was super overcast today.

The white spots on the lower rocker panel are stone chips.

XM radio may be cool but I don`t like the idea of retrofitted antennas. You can see it in this pic on the top of the windshield molding on the passenger side.

:bow agreed! I love Mother`s clay.

Car came out great! Why VM on the windows? Kind of expensive don`t you think?

VM on the paint after SFP topped with NXT is a sick combo. But I guess that extra coat may be too much time.

You seem to be a HUGE NXT guy. All your details seem to use it as the LSP.

Again, awesome shots :xyxthumbs

Mike I would like to meet with you. I have a black Cobra that I detail by hand and I am pleased. But I would like for you to take look at it and offer some suggestions.

Thanks for the kind words all!! :bigups

Intercooled I like the Hot Shine when I am looking for a glossy finish for a tire. It looks, works and feels a lot like that Armor All Detailers Choice. Like any tire dressing if you don`t dry her...she sling.

Spilchy das clay is goot!! I like VM on the windows because it does not streak, removes water spots and provides RainX like protection. I buy it by the case so cost is not an issue. As far as NXT...yeah...I like it...what can I say?? Nothing glamorous or boutique about it but it works for me and my clients like it. Heck...I still use Gold Class. :wavey I agree with you about the 82, VM, NXT combo but the client only wanted to pay for a two step and it needed to be polished.

Redcar GUY definitely one of the Mustang`s best hood designs IMHO.

3veloce PM me and I`ll give you my phone #.

Terry...YOU KNOW IT!!! Especially on cars like this. Oh...and many thanks for the referral from David. :xyxthumbs
