Figured since its a nice day today in jersey i would start the winter prep early this year! Last year i had great results with 3x SG on all the family cars, so i will be using the same routine this winter with an added 2 coats of 16. What will you be using?

Dallas winters aren`t tough with respects to snow and ice, but detailing when it is in the low 30s is pretty uncomfortable but do-able. No real reason to go through any routine like up north. I might give NXT x 2 and #16 a try to see how it does though. :nixweiss

The MPV will get it`s annual many-coats-of-SG, Accumulatorette`s A8 will probably get #16, the S8`ll get UPP, and I dunno what else we`ll be driving yet....so no real changes from the rest of the year. I might put some Collinite on something, as I always did with the Volvo.

Klasse AIO/ SG x 5

or

Duragloss x 3

or

Zaino x 6

I haven`t made a decision yet, but we will see how I like the look of Duragloss and Zaino compared to Klasse.

I`ll probably use the same as last year: AIO/SGx2, and for me, the Griot`s BIS seems to well as a topper through the ~three winter months.

Menzerna followed by Zaino Z5 x3 then by Z2 x3.

I did this last year, got caught up in work during the spring, did not reapply and the Zaino was still beading after 9 months (using Z6 and Z7 to maintain).

Klasse SG x watever I have left in my sample. There`s 3 coats on it now. Probably another two--just because I can. :p

Then I`ll top with EX-P x 2

Then #16

Collinite 476s on paint and windows, Collinite Insulator on the wheels, AIO on trim.

I`ll probably just be going with 2 coats of NXT.. I`m not sure though. I didn`t have anything on my car last winter, it was covered in dirt most of the time, and I`m sure thats when I got the majority of my swirls from. I`ll be treating it better this year though.

When you guys are talking about winter.. you`re talking about temperatures below 0 degrees fahrenheit, and lots of snow and ice right? Here in Alaska, the temperatures are usually 0-20 degrees, and the cars can get layers of ice on them. I wonder how NXT will hold up to conditions like that

I won`t use anything during the winter months. This is the ultimate test you can give to your wax build-up. I would`ve usually accumulated an adequate amount of a wax build-up so as to float through the winter months. If you`ve taken great care in building your wax layers properly, then it will last you through the winter, regardless of whether its covered or not.

I`ve yet to see any disappointment with my wax build-up during the winter. On the prime car, it doesn`t see winter roads or bad weather; However on my daily driver, it has to endure the bad elements, so the build-up is even more important for this car. In the spring, I`ll begin my new wax season by stripping off the old wax and re-starting by cleaning and polishing (once!), then establishing my wax routine for the rest of the season.

Klassse SG x 2 followed with a topper of choice (usually TS), once a month.
