Only 2 responses, I thought with everyone having a PC this would be an easy question, but I guess everyone spend most of their time looking at foam pads instead. I was looking at Flexipads site www.flexipads.com and wonder if their are in any the US or Canada. I think the weakest link on my PC is now lack of different sizes of backplates, I know they sell some here and other online sites, but they very limited in size and selection and their prices truly suck.

Just found another local supplier Sandmate http://www.sandmate.com for all things backplate right here in my backyard. So all Canadian detailers can give them a try, their prices don`t seem that cheap since they are in US funds :( I will give them a call on Tuesday since Monday is Labour Day ...shucks

CMA has in their closeout specials a 6" BP for $9.95...prob the cheapest you`ll ever find it, unless you get a pad/bp kit.

Does anyone know if the backplate(18001) that comes with the 7336 will hook onto LC pads ?

If it`s hook & loop(velcro) then ya it`ll work.

The backplate that came with my 7336 (from carcaresmart.com) was not hook & loop. I had to order a LC pad & plate kit from them.

Dang, they should know better as per PC site the 7336 should come with the hook/loop backplate(18001). You can use a 6" hook conversion on the standard sanding plate, costs like under $3.00cdn.

As per my own and others` experience, the 7336 comes with the standard adhesive backing plate, not the hook & loop. From 4DSC`s excellent PC thread (http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14421):

I think you are right, even though the PC catalog states that the 7336 comes with the 18001 hook/loop backplate all other sources say it is the PSA(16001) backplate. I guess I will have to get a 6" conversion kit if I`am to use the plate that comes with my 7336. I just want to get everything I needed before my PC gets here next week.

Check out this Canadian source, they seem to have every for backplates and conversion kits, I will contact them on Tuesday since they are like 10 minutes away from my place.

Ok, finally got myself a tapered 3", 5" and 6" Sandmate backplate and some 6" hook conversion(not available at most retail stores) for the PSA pad that came with my 7336. They are very well made(hook molded into the pad) and very soft. Sandmate.com will not sell straight to the end user, but they gave me a local distributor that will sell over the counter and online: www.hi-tech.ca. Their prices are comparable to online stores, but they have a much wider selection in size than most.
