A rock the size of a baseball hit my car while driving on the freeaway. Luckily it did not do a lot of damage. but is left some large scratches on the fiberglass. Any suggestion on how to sand / rub them out and with what products?

Make sure what you think are scratches aren`t cracks in the fiberglass, as it will break and chip as opposed dent like steel. Obviously, if you are dealing with cracks, nothing you can do to try and polish them out will help. I assume you are talking about a painted fiberglass surface like the fiberglass flaresides on some pickups...so I`d say hit up the scratches with something basic like scratch-X to see if that helps. Are the scratches deep enough that they catch your fingernail when you run it aross them or go right through the paint and clear? If so...it`s most likely repaint/repair time.
