Guys, I need your help. I`m a ZAINO Newbie.. Used to be with Klasse, P21S, Blitz. I have a 2002 Indigo Blue GTI 1.8t..

I want to make my car more shiner.. I just got my ZAINO Z2, Z5 and Z6 yesterday. So i did it on my sister`s 2000 GTI VR6, it hasnt been waxed in years. but im not completely sure if i did the right way. I did Claybar, Z5 then Z6 then another coat of Z5 then Z6 then Z2 then Z6 then another coat of Z2 then Z6. I put Z2 all over the car at once thne let it dries for 15 mins, repeat with Z5, am I doin the right way?

Any better suggestions u want to give me? I will be going back to RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY). IT snowed a lot there, and lot of salts ont he road. SO i want to keep it shiner when i wash the car.. I want to do the right way. Please help me out, thanks a lot...

First and foremost, :welcome

Not sure if you`ve seen this. If not, give it a read and come back if you still have questions.

Thanks, Bill.. I just read over, over , over. Z6 made it look **** on the paint.. Swirl mark all over... I may have done it wrong way.. I just sprayed 3 times on the towel then wipe it on the surface then dry towel to wipe off.. but still.. so Finally, I spray water on the surface and it cured...

How u like the Klasse SG?

Im gonna try to put Klasse SG (2 coats) then 2 coats of Z5 then 2 coats of Z2 then last - Blitz Wax...

FYI, I used to be detailer at Brandywine Coach Work: Auto Body Specialists. I dont do a lot of detailing. Just wash car and wax on new body parts.

Cheers!!!!

Greg, since you have read it, let me first start by asking if you used zfx or z1?

Greg,

Yes, you do need to use Z1 or ZFX the first time you apply Zaino.

If the paintwork looks really bad, why don`t you use your Meguiars steps 1 & 2 to clean up and get your paint ready for a second try next weekend? Order your Z1 or ZFX, take a little time here at Autopia using the search and reading up on using Zaino and try these websites too:

Greg, no offense intended, but I thought you read the info at the link I gave you? It clearly states to use z1 or zfx. Also, the swirl marks you are talking about sound as though they were on your paint well before zaino. You need to prep the surface prior to using z.

Try clicking on the `learn` icon at the top in order to understand some of the basics about car care. :)

greg,

some of the swirls could be smearing from the zaino as you havent used any accellerator or Z1.

Try again with Z6 and a clean MF. Try spraying Z6 on the pannel, wipe with a MF then buff off with a clean dry MF.

Get some ZFX and try it again, Zaino is a different look with more depth than Klasse and is worth a try.

good luck
