Hi guys

These are after shots of a Z8, 24 hours after the detail. I was back at the owner`s home doing his X5 SUV. The owner came home from work at 6pm so I snapped a couple pics. Sorry about the darkness, but I wasn`t going to ask the owner to move the car for some beauty shots. Sorry no interior shots! It is AWESOME!

Process:

Exterior

Detailers Pride Wheel Gel on wheels

APC+ 1:1 on tires

Turtle Wax glass cleaner on glass

Wheel Wax on wheels

Meguiar`s Gold Class Wash on body and rag top

3M Clay

DACP speed 6 with LC yellow cutting pad - NASTY swirls

VM speed 5 with LC white polish pad

Menzerna Glaze speed 4 with LC white polish pad

Souveran by hand with MF applicator

Interior

Wet MF wipe down and buff dry with another MF

303 on EVERYTHING buffed off with another MF

303 Upholstery cleaner on floor mats and carpeting. Extracted with 6.5 hp Craftsman vac.

Meguiars Gold Class Leather Cleaner and Conditioner on seats - I love this stuff. Buffed down with a terry cloth

If that is true, then the BMW Performance Center has about 20 of the 132 sitting in their parking lot.

The Z8 is an awesome car. Have never had the opportunity to drive or ride in one but I did ride in a new 6-series with a professional driver. The 6-series is a great car so I can only imagine how the Z8 feels/behaves/responds.

Very nice job on the detail, BTW.

I apologize about the lighting and bluriness of the pics. The car seems almost orange :nixweiss

Believe me, in person, you really get the full "wow" effect :D

Nice thorough job!

Looks great from here, but I see what you are saying about the "orange" look.

How do you like APC+ 1:1 on tires? Better than a wheel cleaner?

Yes, I do like it better. It`s stronger than EO A2Z. I also like EFHI 1:1 a little better than the APC+ because it`s more foamy. Sometimes with the APC+ I have to do it a second time on really bad tires. Not so with EFHI. Inhaling the overspray is nasty. Both are powerful! I hold my breath, spray, turn away, exhale and breath in again, hold my breath, clean tire, exhale, wash down!

However, both basically cut right through dirt, grime and old slimy tire dressing with ease. When you spray it on, you see brown liguid begin to drip immediately without agitation.

I like EFHI and APC+ because you can dillute it to a million ratios from degreasing engines all the way to cleaning interior head liners.

I got to drive one of those on the Performance Center track. It was very nice but the whole time all I was thinking was, "This car is worth $150K, don`t crash it!"

Car looks great. I also second the recommendation for EF-HI on tires. You`re right about the fumes though. I always feel a little light-headed after that last tire. :p

Great job, the first pic looks awsome very wet. BMW red in general isn`t really a good red, it tends to have that orangey look.
