Cottonwood Tree Sap

We have a vehicle that has months of accumulated cottonwood tree sap on the roof. Almost black on a silver van. Anyone got any ideas on the best way to remove this? And then what`s best to keep it from sticking so well in the future?

I would try Tarminator from Stoner, then maybe try Goo Gone Pro and see if that works...

You may want to try mineral spirits and saturate a rag in it and lay it on the sap for a bit to soften it then aggitate it a bit to see if it comes off. Cottonwood sap can be a bear once it sets up.

Please cut that tree down !! Cottonwoods should be banned from all cities and towns:rolleyes: they create nothing but a big mess everywhere IMHO
