Seems like it`s interiors day on the front page. Saturday was Explorer interior day at my house.

Whoever recommended a Woolite/water plus "Dobie" pad approach to the interior should get some kind of award.

I do the Exporer inside once per year, probably should do it 2-3 times and it would be less time-consuming but whatever. This was a superb idea, did the carpets--salt stains, dirt, plant store apcra, assorted other stuff; (even a year we`re still not any where near the trash level noted on today`s posts.) So it really wasn`t bad as much as removing the scuff marks...how do marks get on the headliner?

Did all the vinyl and plastic....followed with some leather wipes on the "seating surfaces"...Vinylex everywhere else....SHOWROOM.

Again, great suggestion...one gallon did the whole inside.

It wasn`t an actual Dobie, although someone last week mentioned Dobie by name--I bought a 2 sponge pak at Walmart. The sponge has like a web netting over it. But works extremely well--looks like zero/little wear after about 2-3 hours of use; of course used an old fashioned scrub brush on carpets. When you compare the cheap Woolite bottle with the various "interior products" that are out there, it`s no brainer--another in a string of suggestions by the pros here that are looking for superior results in a cost effective way.

Joe K .. also try woolite ( 6:1 Water / Woolite) for dash cleaning .. I spritz a fine mist on a cheapie Walmart MF towel and wipe the dash/ AC / Radio contoles down with it .. its like a dust magnet .. what used to take me forever to clean a dash is now minutes. Great around window controls too.

I need to snag some Dobie pads, they seem like they would be great for vinyl.

so does the 6:1 water:woolite combo not leave any residue? ordo you need to "rinse" with a damp cloth too?

I`ve used a bug and tar remover sponge for the same purpose, works pretty well, but i think the dobie has a finer mesh, so it would probably work well. Never used one, just an observation of looking at one in wally world. As for residue, i`m honestly not sure. Good question though...
