I used to have a problem with a stray cat jumping up on the tonneau cover on my truck. Only problem was he sometimes didn`t quite make it, and has left a couple of small scratches on the bedside. Paint is black, primer seems to be white. THe scratches are so small I would not want to try to use touch up, but you can see the white coming through. Is there anything that would cover this, like the Meguiars Scratch remover? Yo ucan`t feel the scratches, and if the undercoat wasn`t white you couldn`t tell they are there.

If you can`t feel the scratches, that`s good. Clear coat will often turn white when lightly scratched. You can use a mild cleaner like the Meguiar`s or Mother`s pre-cleaner. It should smooth out the paint, removing the white and clearing it up again. Then go over it with your favorite polish/wax.

I`d be more inclined to try something around the scratch remover strength, but if they really are deep enough to go down to the primer then nothing is really going to help...

Time to camp in the yard with the garden hose. ;)
