Just want to say hi to everyone. This board is the greatest source for car detailing. There is so much info for me to learn.

I love detailing my car as well as other ppls` cars.

I have used many brand of waxes and so far, Zaino is my current favorit (tho it`s a sealant) for a simple reason of durabilty.

I usually wash my car (not garaged) 1~2 times a week depends on if it rains or not.

BUT, here my problem:

The water does bead on the paint and shape regularly every time i wash my car. However after a while, I feel the paint surface isn`t as smooth as it was just clayed and zainoed(specialy on the hood, roof, trunk, trunk where they got rained on a lot).

It`s like the dust has eaten through the Zaino and sticks on paint. A routin car wash just wouldnt make the paint smooth.

Is it possible to make the paint silky smooth after every car wash w/o claying???

Are you using the Zaino Quick Detailer (Z-6 I think) after your routine washes? That will help keep the surface clean and smooth. I`ve have around 7 coats on my car now since May, I just washed it yesterday and hit it w/ QD and it still feels smooth as ever.

you wash your car everyday?

I wish i had time to wash my car everyday.

:(

I do use the QD after i wash my car. I Think the biggest problem is the rain.

After raining, the water beads on the paint. When the sun light hits the water drop (w/ pollutant in it), light gets magnified and cut though coating on the surface w/ pollutant (dust, ...).

I wish i can wash my car right after the rain, but it is impossible for me to always stand by.
