Guys,

My new lightning has a dealer applied decal on the tailgate stating the dealer`s name, location, etc. It`s, in my opinion, rather unsightly, as it doesnt go with teh flow of the truck. What`s the best option to having it removed without damaging the paint?

Oh, by the way, this is my first post on Autopia. It`s great to be a member!

Heat it with a hair dryer (NOT a heat gun), catch an edge with your fingernail, and pull.

Use Goo-gone(goof-off, etc), or something similar to remove the residue, the immediately wash & re-protect the area to remove and trace of the goo-gone.

Get the dealer to remove it.

On second thought, never mind. :wall

I can`t believe your dealers put on decals, i`ve never seen a dealer out here in So Cal do that. I`d be pissed

I hate that, first thing i do with a car is remove decals if any then get new license plate frames.

I think the dealers should have to pay the car buyer if they put one on your car. After all you`ll be advertising for them, right?

When I bought my SVT Contour, I asked the dealer to remove their decals. The salesman said, "How will people know where you bought your car?" I replied, "if you treat me right, I`ll tell them."
