Hey guys, I recently had my car "professionally" detailed and the geniuses at the shop decided to armor all my interior dash. putting the armor all on the dash is fine, but they also decided to overspray and get it all over my interior gauge pods. as a result the clear plastic covering over top of the gauges are completely hazy now and have running drips of armorall smudging up the plastic. i`ve tried a few different things I thought might remove it but nothing seems to be working. does anybody have any tips for removing armor all from clear plastic gauge covers??

Perhaps a spray plastic cleaner like Plexus or Novus #1 may work, I couldn`t say for sure though :nixweiss

i know! i took it back there and tried to make them clean it but of course they didnt spray it on there. it couldnt of been their fault.. :angry
tried windex and that didnt work. maybe i`ll pick up that eagle 1 tomorrow too

im surprised the armorall wont come off with windex... a carwash place did that to my dads car, and i just used a damp cloth and it wiped the armorall off...???

i guess its dried into the plastic or something because the windex didnt do anything for it

I think it may have stained / etched your plastic.

stained/etched?! that doesnt sound good. is there anything to do if thats the case? I guess worst case I can probably just replace the plastic pieces..

Armor All can make certain clear plastics hazy/cloudy. The only way I`ve repaired it in the past has been with a plastic polish (Novus #2 or the Meg`s line).
Clear plastics can be finicky when it comes to chemicals. Nissan put out a TSB about rubbing alcohol having the clouding affect on certain of their clear plastics. I`ve since been very careful about what touches mine.
Hopefully you`ll luck out and a good plastic cleaner (Plexus, Novus #1, Meg`s) will take it off with no remaining damage.
