I am looking for just clay bar(s), no lube.

The cheapest I`ve seen so far is from http://www.carcaresolutions.net/. It`s $13 for 8 oz (226 grams)

Any better deal out there ?

Supposedly, you clay 2-3 times a year (max). Does the clay bar get dried out after being left in the box for 6 months or 1 year ?

Thanks !

I like the ones from the Autopia Store. Here you go: Autopia Clay (http://store.yahoo.com/autopia/detailingclay.html)

Unless your parked indoors at night and such, I would at least clay twice a year if not more when doing a full detail. I always clay before i do my klasse twins on my paint for extra insurance against sealing dirt in.

What he said! :up I`ve used and been happy with Mothers and ClayMagic. (And, BTW gav`spurplez, my cars also sit outdoors 24/7/365.) But, to me, the Autopia clay outperforms them. Frankly, I don`t care a lot about the price on clay. I only use it a few times a year (but on 4 cars!), and I make orders to Autopia regularly, so I don`t care if my 2nd-choice clay might be available locally for a few pennies cheaper. There`s something about the feel and the pick-up of the Autopia clay that makes it feel worth the extra trouble and maybe $.02.

Anybody experience the Blackfire clay in relation to clay magic, mothers, and Autopia. I`m using it now and find that it works very well. Thanks for any comments

I purchase my clay bars at local Body Shop supplies stores. There I have a selection of clay types for the job needed. Plus no shipping and can fill an immediate need when necessary.

Clay your finish whenever it requires it. No set frequency. Feel your paint prior to each wash. You may not need to clay the whole vehicle more than 2-3 times a year, but "spot" claying maybe need at each wash. Especially on a daily not garaged driver.:wavey
