I just purchased a ford ranger that is less than a month old from the factory, and i want to put a good coat of wax on it. But i remember when i worked for a chev dealer a few years ago in the detail bay, i went to gm school and they said there was a time limit to wait before waxing as the clear coat needed to cure.

Now the thing i am still wondering is this still true or will i be fine buying a good wax to apply as the first coat??

from what I read here, the paint is already cured by the time it hits the dealers lot

you can wax it as soon as it arries at the dealership

the paint is baked on at the factory

Today...............your ranger was painted at least 1 month ago.Get some wax on it for protection!
