Okay so I just tried putting some of this sealant over my red paint. My question is do I buff it on in a circular or vertical motion to help best fill and remove swirls? Its a mothers brand sealant.

CALIFORNIA GOLD®

SEALER AND GLAZE – PHASE 2

Thats the exact product, now im a little confused as it says on mothers site that you can use it over existing coats of wax.... is this still a sealer?!

Linear direction, same way air flows over the body.

Edit: No, it`s not a sealant, it`s just a glaze.

Before I do this over my entire car I want to make sure it`s a sealer.

No IM. If you mean is it a sealant like Zaino or Klasse, then no it isn`t.

Will it work at all like a sealant? Im using it because I don`t want my paint to come off every time I wax since the cars 11 years old. I also want to add more protection. Do you advise I use this or go to another store real fast and look for klasse or zaino sealants?

Zaino or Klasse isn`t available at your local auto parts place, both would need to be ordered online.

The Glaze will add little to no protection, it isn`t designed for that, and it has little to no durability. It`s designed to fill imperfections, and must be waxed over.

Personally, I think you should scrap your plans for today. Sounds like you didn`t do much research on this stuff before jumping in. Take the next few days and read up on some of the info here and tackle this project at a later date.

I`ve been outside since 12:00 this morning its now 4:00 clayed the 3000gt and lexus and washed both and just finished waxing the lexus now I`d love to get this clear coat done. What other products can I get from local places that will work as a sealer. They MUST carry something locally...

NXT comes to mind but it has some cleaners in it and it may not last as long as true sealants.

Buy the NXT. It should work just fine. It`s easy on, easy off.

Glaze will require a wax on top to seal it in.

What are you worried about? Waxing and having the paint come off - i.e. single stage paint? Probably but I just wanted to check. Don`t worry, waxing will hardly do any damage unless you are using a cleaner wax and even then ...

But I agree with a post above... stop. Put a coat of wax and read up a bit more.
