I am going to buy a PC and I need some help with picking pads. I was thinking of buying Autopia pad kit or Sonus pads. Are Sonus pads worth the money over Autopia pads. Sonus pads sure are expensive. But I do want to buy top quality pads and learn to do the job right. I see other pads mentioned in posts. Are they better pads or just as good for a better price. What pads do I need to start out with to cover all the bases? I see where someone said you could buy a PC at Lowes` for 109 dollars. Has anyone purchased one at Lowes? Thanks for all the help. I appreciate ya`lls help in skipping some mistakes I surely would make. Wes

I got my PC from www.coastaltool.com

It`s only $10 more than lowes, and includes a velcro backing plate which you need to use most pads, and also a 6" counterweight.

I got my pad kit from CMA.

IM in the same boat, Im planning to pick up my PC at Lowes this weekend. You can register on Lowes site and get a 10% off coupon mailed to you. SO the PC would be like $100!

Im going to order the Autopia pad kit plus 2 extra polishing and 1 extra "buffing" pad to start with. Im sure the experts will chime and offer their advice.

The pads Classic Motoring Acessories sell have a larger diameter velcro loop on them that extends beyond a 5" diameter backing plate. I think you will appreciate that when you put some pressure on a yellow pad as the edge of the backing plate won`t cut into the foam.

Don`t know about Sonus and some people like the 7.5" LC pads because it has a "plastic cup" that protects the foam I am told.

I think the best deal for getting a PC, is to go to Lowes.com, you can get that 10% discount and they are offering free shipping(up till June 23), not to sure if you can combine the two? Then just order the Pad Kit w/ backplate at CMA which is on sale for only $49.95. You also get a nice assortment of pads. You`d only be spending around $160(for the pc, and pad kit shipped).

I like both the CMA pads and the Meguiars pads.
