I use the 1" mainly gut I also keep a roll of 1.5" and 2" just in case. I probably won`t buy more of the larger width tape because of cost and where I have to go to get it.

I use all of the different sizes. DO NOT buy cheap stuff! I got some generic blue/easy release/low residue/etc. tape a Lowe`s and it *really* stuck to the vehicle. Left behind some tenacious residue that was hard to remove, even with 3M`s Adhesive Remover. Definitely NOT worth whatever money I saved.

I haven`t had any problems with the 3M blue painters tape even used in direct sunlight for half the day. I don`t know if that`s what you mean by the cheap blue tape??

Spoiledman- Nah, it wasn`t the 3M stuff, it was *cheap* generic stuff called [Accumulator runs out to garage to check...] "Pro Painters Plus Clean Release". Avoid this [stuff] at all costs!

3M tape works well, even the older blue version.
