During a car wash at home, I managed to loosen the "Acura" emblem on the back of my car, so I took it off. What is left is a hard, sometimes tacky substance that does NOT want to come off (I`m shying away from using a boxcutter :D ), what would be paint-safe and strong enough to remove this substance?
I don`t plan on putting it back on, trying to go "Emblemless" for a cleaner look (keeping my A symbols though). I have some paint (colors match) and some bondo to cover the holes, or is that too much effort for such a small gain?

While I`m at it, figured I`d ask but I probably already know the answer: Do I need a repaint to fix this clearcoat peeling?
