A few months ago some birds had used my wife’s 2000 Dark Emerald Pearl Acura TL for target practice. As soon as she saw it, she said wiped it off with some paper towels and water. She reasoned to me that it was better than letting the poop sit. I had to agree that it was probably the lesser of the two evils.

But, since that time, I’ve had these monster swirls MOCKING me every time I washed her car but didn’t have enough time to fix it.

Until today.

She was going to work for half a day and I asked her to take my car so I could work on hers. MUHAHAHAHA.

My steps:

1. Wash

2. Clay

3. DACP w/ cutting pad @ 6

4. DACP w/ polishing pad @ 6

5. PI III MG w/ polishing pad @ 6

6. Zaino X 2

I wanted something that would last awhile because who knows when I’ll get the chance to work on it again. Additionally, Zaino looks really good on her paint.

8:30 AM and the sun doesn’t want to come out to show everyone how bad things are.

Looks real good. What did you use on the tires? That is how I like them, a nice satin sheen not to glossy. :xyxthumbs

Looks great! But what if a bird pooped on your car and she came home today and she had said she "wiped it off with some paper towels and water."

:LOLOL

Dennis A,

In step five of your detail you say that you used FI III. Does this mean Finesse IT III by 3M? I dont think there is a FI III. There is a Finesse IT II and a Perfect IT III. Can you clear this up for me please?

Teck - Ah, ok. Thanks for the clarification

stevet - Right you are. Just checked and it is Perfect It III Machine Glaze. :o

Great job :) I`m curious, how many times did u have to repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 before waxing? For instance, did it take three applications of step 3 to get the surface to your liking and then go to step 4 to remove the hazing?
