I mean the plexiglass that`s over the gauges. I need to clean it on my 2004 Camry, but it looks like the dealer already put scratches on it, and I hate to make it worse. Is there a recommended method of cleaning it?

Try Plexus, it`s a cleaner/polish for plastic. Spray it on the plastic panel in front of the gauges and gently wipe it in until it disappears. It`s also a good anti-static and repels dust very well. Works good on all other plastic car parts inside and out.

I think the Autopia store sells it.

I use Plexus. I spray it on and wipe off with the softest MF towels I have.

Plexus really wont (IMO) help you prevent scratches. Unfortunately I`ve learned this the hard way, as my gauge cluster has plenty of fine scratches in it now from wiping it down (both dry, wet, plexus`d etc).

It sucks, i hate that it`s scratched and i can see them, but I don`t think it can be polished out.. atleast not with the products I have tried.

I tried Meguiars PlastX, and it worked great. It also removed the marks left from the previous owner that sprayed something like Armor All on the face plate, and it ate away at it.
