I keep hearing great things about the porter cable 7424, when I did a search, I discovered "two" types of 7424.

What is the difference ? And which one should I be getting ?

Looks like they are the same. The first is sold by amazon, and qualifies for free shipping and other discounts. The second is sold through amazon by Grizzly, w/o discounts, etc.

Thanks, I just realized that too. DOH!

Some other places (like Autopia) and Coastal Tools, also seem to sell these `kits` that have attachments, etc.

The default polishing pad, seems to be a screw on thing. Versus, I`ve seen these kits with adhesive, or velcro on the buffer backing, so you can `stick` on various types of pads onto the unit.

Any preferred/recommended choices ?

Thanks,

Andy

Get a velcro backing plate and use velcro backed pads.

6" versus 5" ? Preference ? Advantages, disadvantages ?

Thanks,
