Normal printer paper is usually about 20#. Most business cards are about 80#. I wouldn`t go much lower that the 50# range as it might look too cheap. Compare the pricing and all that. Also, check out www.vistaprint.com They have specials on their cards and are usually pretty cheap.

I have done extensive shopping for cards, and the best i have found are at overnightprints.com

12pt and 80# are the same thickness of paper (.012"). The only difference is 12pt. paper is coated and 80# is uncoated.

I searched on Google for this one :P

I`ve had good success with www.greatfxbusinesscards.com Use the coupon code "autopia" at checkout to get 10% off

I ordered mine through greatfx, glossy front and mat back. I`m very pleased, the autopia code still works and it`s free shipping!

Not sure what thickness they use, but my glossy 4ups are 110# and def. thicker than the cards...

Both Staples and Office Depot carry Avery Clear Edge Business Cards. They "snap" apart without leaving any perferation marks and they are made from a 35-40 wt paper.

Give it a try, I was impressed.

Any other weblinks for those of us who don`t necessarily want 1000 cards? I like GreatFX a lot so far but I`m not keen on having that many cards for now.

I usually do my own business cards with the help of a Canon printer and some Office Depot Heavyweight Photo Paper. The only things you really need are some creativity (not in short supply on this board!) and a paper cutter for uniformly sized cards...

(ohyeah, and there are several freeware download programs for doing business cards. I`m currently using Canon Colorstore.):D

It`s easy! Try it! You`ll never go back to a "normal" card again!
