My car went in for some warranty paint repair, lower right front door and entire trunk lid(2002 E320).It had developed some small rust bubbles under the paint.

When can I use my PC random polisher on these areas.?I have Menzerna IP and FP,along with the preferred polishing pads for German paint/clearcoat.Should I wait? I was planning to do a touch up on the rock chips, using Langka, then clay, polish,Klasse 1 and 2,then p21s.

Thanks guys.

you can polish as soon as you want

you have to wait about 60-90 days before waxing/sealant

most of todays clears dry pretty fast, I say 30 days if it`s pretty warm out.

I wouldn`t polish or wax for 60 days(but that`s me)if its hot in your area make that 45 days.

You can polish right away. The body shop probably already did. You need to use a compound or polish that is safe for new paint. They don`t contain wax or silicone.

While you wait for the paint to cure, you can use something like 3M`s IHG or Meg`s #3/#5/#7/#81 to provide a little protection.

I assume that a little Meg`s quick wipe wont hurt, just to keep bad stuff from settling in?

Thanks for the advice,Im gonna do the rest of the car as I stated before.:bow
