Is it mandatory to wash the car again after claying? I have the Meguiar`s clay kit and I noticed it doesn`t say to wash after claying. Although I see alot of people doing it! Thanks.

Some people wash after to make sure all of the clay residue is gone. A lot of people actually use car wash as lube so washing after claying is necessary.

well, if you can buff off the huge amounts of QD you`ll be using, then sure, don`t wash.

Will it hurt if you wash it the next day before you start to polish?

I usually wash, clay, rinse, and dry.

I just tried saturday Claying as I washed and it seemed to work very well.

I use to wash, clay, wash but I think I like claying while washing alot better.

Slick- No problem doing an extra wash, it`s extra insurance against marring while you polish. You should always polish *as clean a surface as possible*.

MattZ28- I`ll bet you get different opionions on the "too much lube", but for *my* $0.02- NO you can`t. But then I clay *very* gently, I try not to even remove an appreciable amount of my LSP.

i clayed the front bumper and side skirts of my car when it was "kinda" hot out....i even washed it after with z7

when i was gonna put some coats of wax on a couple of days later i noticed that the front and sides had residue

i didnt z2 or z5 the front or sides...im guessing that i have to use dawn to get off the residue

am i right?....the residue wasnt bad...but i noticed it in the sun and i definately wanna take care of it

Matt I cant comment on weather there was to much lube or not. I had just clayed about a month and half ago and was prepping for "Z" so I decided to just give it a quick touch up clay in the process of washing.
