My brother and I worked on an H2 today--10 total man-hours and the paint was in good shape already (only 16K on the clock). I stayed outside and he was my "man on the inside." He had his work cut out for him--dog hair, french fries, gum, etc. I simply had to contend with miles of real estate. Today I witnessed the birth and death of a Clay Magic bar.

My go-to combo after the CM--#7 with PC and #16 by hand. The roof is a MISERABLE place. You can have the world`s tallest ladder and still have issues as the problem is your horizontal reach. I was hanging on to the racks for dear life, so PC use on the roof was a non-issue.

Pics are bad, as usual. I took `em, so why not post `em:D

Rear After (the rear bumper saw the following action: Sonax-->APC+ 1:10-->Meg`s #40-->Vanilla Moose-->acceptance of defeat: I still don`t know what stained it, but it appears to be here to stay)

Don`t know why I like this pic, but here it is anyway. Wheel is sporting Waxing Frenzy--I`m starting to like the heavy cleaning action more and more.

Forgot to mention--the grille came out great thanks to AIO and the lower facia and all of the exterior trim received VM.

Nice detail!

Personally, I really jack the prices up on anything that big...

Why? BECAUSE I DON`T LIKE DOIN` `EM!!!

Just too darn big and time consuming for a one-man operation.

Just imagine if you were doing it by yourself!

(I spent 7 hours on a trashed Corolla today and I`m beat!...but the $220 check eases my pain a little...)

I spent 9 Hours on a Jetta and recieved $100. Then again they are my neighboors and I gave them a BIG discount ;)

But $220? Do you go by the hour?

Too much freakin` trim. If it was all wide expanses of paint, no problem, but that detail work around the front, back, and roof rack is what makes it no fun.

I wonder how the owner was able to pay you considering how much gas the H2 drinks.

Great Job!!!....Looks awesome!!!!!

I really couldnt see myself tackling something like that. Just way to much trim for me. Trim is probably what I hate most.

I did notice that the gas gauge was very near empty. After finishing, I put 6 gallons in the Accord`s tank and drove @200 miles:D

Luster: That`s why I say "maybe last." After this hard lesson, I`ll be pricing H2s fairly prohibitively.

TQB: I don`t mind *dressing* the trim once finished, but as Mosca notes--it takes a load of tape and time to prepare the paint beforehand.

Mosca: No doubt. The other pain is the amount of exposed suspension and chassis components around the wheels. A lot of time was spent kneeling around those massive doughnuts.

I agree, Hummers are a real bear to detail. I`m not doing them cheap either. The roof is especially a pain because of how wide it is.

Nice job on it, looks really good!

Nice job on the H2, can`t imagine how much wider the roof is on the original Hummer. Can`t really appreicate a truck that big because I prefer sports cars, but I guess if you want the ultimate, this truck is it.
