My jar of Pinnacle Souveran paste wax is about 1/2 empty and around a year old and has started to crumble when I use my foam applicator in the jar. Has anyone ever heated wax to melt it a bit and get it back to it`s original consistancy? I don`t want to blow myself up or ruin the $60.00 jar of wax. Any experience?

Call Pinnacle. I`m sure they have a solution.

I`ve placed the tightly sealed jar in very hot water. Brought back most of the consistency, but I don`t know about the `chemical` changes... Call `em.

Where do you keep the wax? I keep my blitz in the fridge and I take it out a couple of hours before using it. This allows it to get back to room temp. No problems doing it this way. And my can of blitz is about 3 years old.

I think jim`s solution is a good one. I may be wrong but I believe the wax is initially poured in, which means it is obviously warm. I thing the warm water trick is a nice way to not expose it to too much heat and sort of `melt` it back. Of course, I wouldn`t want to experiment so calling is a good idea.

I added a drop of water to my mothers cleaner wax when I was like 12, and it worked. Didn`t seem to effect the chemicals of anything. Brought it back to its original condition.

Do you mean your mothers cleaner wax as in your Mom (and Dad) or your brand name Mothers Cleaner Wax??

Not really important, I just thought it was funny! ;)

To be honest, my daughter was in surgery today and I totally spaced off calling Pinnacle. I guess that`s a good sign that I may still be less than totally obsessed with shiney cars!

You can warm it up slightly with a hair dryer to get it back to its original composition. Some carnauba waxes will do this if the top remains slightly open for a long period of time. I had a crack lid on a s100 wax that did the same.
