hey everyone. My fiancee has a 2002 Mazda Protege5 wagaon. She also has an 11 month old son who feeds on formula. Somehow a bottle got stuck under the front seat, sat there for god knows how long and leaked. So the whole car wreaks of this stuff. Any suggestions on how to get it out? I`ve tried Resolve and FeBreeze and come up empty handed. Thanks!

If you can, remove the seat, get your favorite APC and work it in to remove the formula, then use a shopvac to suck it out. Then use an odor eliminator to make sure the smell is gone, Meguiars makes a good one. Hope this helps.

In all honesty, you may not be able to get it out. I would look around your area for a detailer that specializes in odor and stain removal. They`ll have access to high powered extractors, bio-active cleaning agents and ozone air scrubbers they can use.

Try putting some Baking soda on the carpet. Rub it in, let it sit for a few days, vacuum it up. If the smell remains, repeat.

I have had some sucess with this method.

Baking soda has also worked for me. Oxi-clean can also be very effective.

It is possible that some of the liquid has pooled under the carpet before drying out, if this is the case, you would need to remove the carpets. I discovered this whilst taking a pet with a `bladder problem` to the vets. It took some time to fully understand why the smell would not go away!
