Most of the cars I`ve done are dark but my ride is metallic silver. I`ve currently got the WG twins on and I love the look. I`ve also done AIO/SG and AIO/NXT but WG is still my fav for now.

I like experimenting though and I really want to try something clearer and EX-P looks intriguing. However I have no experience with EX-P at all.

So... those who have used EX-P, any advice on what to use under it? Is the AIO I have good w/ EX-P? I`ve also seen VM as a possibility. I don`t plan on topping EX-P but if anybody feels strongly that a particular topper would enhance EX-P`s clarity, I`d give it a shot.

Scottwax`s description says what I want...I want the dipped in salad oil clear look. I know the car`s silver so it won`t be hyper-reflective but I want something in between a deep carnauba look (which WG is pretty good at) and the thin, plasticy look of Zaino.

All suggestions are both welcome and appreciated!

I love EX-P over WG on both my black (Z28) and silver metallic Escort. I did a black `99 Silverado Extended Cab 2 weeks ago and after Menzerna IP, I AIO, WG sealant and EX-P (done over 3 days). Owner loved the results.

See no reason or possible benefits by topping EX-P. :wavey

I have used both on Black, and VM looks best on my Paint!

I like the look of PWC under Ex-P / Its my favorite combo on light colors - metallics

PwC or VM is what I have been using. I still haven`t topped it. If I do, it will be with Natty Wax, #16 or S100...something similarly clear.

I am very pleased with VM + 2x EXP + #16. I can`t honestly say #16 made much visual difference. I use it anyway because I top the VM on my clear 3M film with either S-100 (easy to remove - no scratches please) or #16 (I am quick and gentle). I would probably use just VM on the film but I wash bugs off often. The S-100 doesn`t seem to stop yellow bug stains but #16 always does. My other reason for using VM is I use it on the windows, trim, lights, etc.

VM is my absolute favorite detailing product. They say Poorboys is pretty close, but I haven`t tried it yet. :usa

VM it is! Now if I could just find a site that sells both Clearkote and Poorboy`s...

Quick question: Will VM remove my WG for me?

I saw scottwax`s review of it so I know it has cleaners but I`m not sure if that means it will remove sealants as well. CK`s website wasn`t terribly helpful.

I`m hoping to just VM over what I have now assuming that it will remove WG. The car`s only a couple months old and was clayed and polished just a month ago so I don`t think a full prep is warranted.

blkZ28Conv`s suggestion of EX-P over WG is intriguing too. I might just have to try that first since I`ve got WG on right now anyway. :p

I have VM topped with EX-P on my car right now. Awesome combo. VM will remove whatever is underneath of it, so yes, VM the entire car and then go right to the EX-P :xyxthumbs

Now see, that`s why I like this forum. Good info, nice clear answers. Thx breakneckvtec!

Now I just have to convince my wife that it really will look different with VM + EX-P. To her, the car`s either clean or it`s dirty. :p

Went ahead and ordered from SpecialityMotoring. Way too easy to order stuff from them using Paypal.

Once I get the combo on, I`ll post pics.

How does EX-P work on top of NxT. Will it bond??

I have a new auto that has only been hand washed.

I am ready to apply my first protective products.

I plan to wash, dry and clay.

Then apply NxT toped with Ex-P How does this combo sound for good results. Iam new at detailing. Are there any other suggestions to my plan?

NXT topped by EX-P should work fine. NXT will (very) lightly clean the paint and while EX-P will probably remove the protective properties of NXT, it has its own so I wouldn`t worry about that.

Scott,

From my observations EX-P has no more cleaning (solvent) ability than #16, Souveran, Natty or P21S. All seem to leave the WG intact. Why do you think EX-P has more cleaning ability? Just curious. :wavey
