Hello all,

I`m planning on replacing my current stash of cotton terry towels for some quality MF towels, but was wondering if I should go with the WW or regular MF`s. What are the benefits, if any, of the WW MF towels over the regular MF towels? Are there big differences in effectiveness?

Thanks!

Matt

I`ll be using them for just about everything - cleaning the windows, buffing off the Klasse twins, drying the vehicle, dusting off the interior, etc. etc.

Thanks!

Go with regular MF. The Waffle Weaves are better suited at drying and drying only. They hold a ton of water, but are not as good at buffing off polish and sealant/wax.

1 or 2 WW for drying(depends how big they are). I`d get at least a dozen regular MF for everthing else. 16 x 16 work best for me.

I think you can order a sampler pak from Ranney (www.pakshak.com) and you`ll get the key components needed for efficient detailing/weekly maintainence.

I think you would want both WW (drying) and various MF for everything else.

Agree with Tom. You will need both WW & regular MFs.

I would recommend both types of towels. We offer a bunch of different grades of towels for various uses, as does PakShak, Autopia-Carcare, CMA and Autogeek to name a few.

The Maximum Drying Towel (http://www.autofiber.com/maximumDryingTowel.html) is a great ww towel for drying.

While the Elite Buffing Towel (http://www.autofiber.com/eliteBuffingTowel.html) is a high quality (I think the best available) dual sided towel (one side plush, and one side less plush) that will be great for buffing the Klasse twins. The Autopia Concours Buffing towel will also serve this need well, it is a great natural microfiber towel.

The Pro Detailing Towel (http://www.autofiber.com/proDetialTowels.html) is a great all purpose microfiber towel, interiors, windows and everything else.

Here is the basic breakdown of the various grades of towels and their uses:

A waffle-weave towel is usually more absorbent, because it`s construction allows it to hold the water without releasing it or leaving streaks behind.

A terry towel is best for buffing and QD (some think that waffle-weaves work better, but this is just a personal choice) because the long fibers grab and pull the excess wax/polish or dirt/grime/dust away from the sruface of the paint.

A towel with a tight weave and no pile, suede-like, will be best for windows and mirrors because it will be less likely to leave lint or streaks.

I hope this helps.
