the decals on my windshield and side windows came off easy without any left over residue (at least not so much)

i removed the rear window decal with a blade and it came off easy...but the blade didnt really get under the glue so well

goo gone is breaking down the residue but its really just smearing it around

any suggestions?

Use some eagle one 20/20 or a window cleaner to clean off the remaining product. Otherwise, good ol soap and water will do it.

I actually had the same problem last week. I did an extensive search in this forum and was surprised to find that many recommended using 91% rubbing alcohol. I tried goo gone and had the same smearing effect you are experiencing. I then grabbed a bottle of nail polish remover from my gf and that didn`t work either. I thought, what the heck, and tried the rubbing alcohol and it worked like a charm. Just use some qtips to apply it and let it sit for a few seconds before wiping it off...it`ll work just fine. :xyxthumbs

I use a combination of ammonia + vinegar + water to get rid of the kind of residue you`re experiencing.

came off ok with goo-gone...but my windows are still filthy none-the -less ...so i guess im gonna have to get a product like stoniers or eagle 20/20 soon

are they both safe on tints?

Goo Gone has worked like a charm for removing stickers and sticky residue. Highly recommended.
