Can you go from #80 straight to wax?

Absolutely! Just make sure you work it long enough to break down the diminishing abrasives.

We (as in Aurora40 and I) went from #80 to NXT on this 350Z:

That looks sweet! I knew I should have gotten #80 instead of #9.

The professional detailer that mentored me before I found Autopia recommeded I try Speed Glaze instead of #7 on my black M3. My only concern is how often I can safely use this product as it is a #4 on the abrasiveness scale. I like to polish/glaze and wax my Jet Black M3 every 6-8 weeks.

I do it all the time, great looking with anything on top.

Well, you get the idea. I love to go from #80 to my LSP. :D

I go straight to a LSP all the time after #80. However, for a really sick look, if you`re skilled with a rotary, try #3 Machine Glaze and then a carnuaba!

If not, try Hand Polish or if you like #7 then your LSP.

I sure hope this doesn`t sound `````y, but you really shouldn`t have to polish (as in abrasives) that often. You might want to refine your wash/dry technique a little if you have marring to deal with that frequently.

I agree that #80 might be a bit strong for such frequent use, maybe you oughta try #81 instead if all you need is something to add a little pizzaz before you wax. But if you`re dealing with marring, then it`s a tough call, as you need something abrasive (but then you`re back to "is this too much/often..").

Or you could switch to 1Z`s Metallic Polish. It has *mild* abrasives, but they are *SO* mild that frequent use just isn`t an issue.

Splichy-just FYI, Machine Glaze #3 works great by hand (and I am sure, PC) too. I used that for years until #81 came out.

ebpcivicsi-Dude! Nice work, you even made a Malibu look great!

Has anyone tried #80 on white? I have a white car this weekend and I`m undecided about polishing with #80 or PwC?
