First off, you all have a great forum and it is so interesting to read everyone’s experiences.

A neighbor and I are going to re-wax our 2004 cars (1 Bronze, 1 Green) which now both have:

1) Clay

2) NXT (2 coats)

3) #16 (2 coats)

The paint is very clean and smooth, no swirl’s or scratches on either

Naturally we want to try something different, He just got some EX-P and I have some WG Sealer arriving in a couple of days.

How do we remove the coats of NXT/#16 that are on the cars ?

Should we use a mild pre-sealer like WG pre-sealer, 1Z Metallic, Poorboys Pro Polish or something else prior to using the Sealers ?

Lastly we are pretty sure that topping w/#16 a few days later will be cool

Yeah, you will want to use a pre-cleaner before hand. I personally would recommend AIO for both applications. However, the WG pre-cleaner or the Poorboys Polish or SSR1 will do the trick just fine. You just want your surface nice and clean before adding new things. Then, you can feel free to add some #16 when you want.

Thanks Greg,

I thought that AIO had some wax included.

Would the wax in AIO make the WG or EX-P sealants difficult to adhere to ?

There is no wax in AIO. AIO does contain acrylic resin which is good as a base for any sealant. WG or EX-P will have no trouble bonding.
