Are there any good metal polishes you can buy at your local auto parts or retail store?

Eagle One has a decent polish.

Do you mean for non-coated aluminum wheels?

If so, there are several - Mothers, Flitz, Wenol to name a few.

Coated rims and a chrome tailpipe and grille.

I`d suggest you not use a metal polish on a coated rim. There are better choices, like Clear Coat Wheel Polish or a synthetic paint sealant.

On a chrome tailpipe, use a chrome polish. If the grill is chrome plated metal, use the chrome polish. If it`s chrome plated plastic, I`d just use an instant detailer.

I`ve been quite impressed with Mother`s ClearCoat Wheel Polish [I don`t think that`s exactly its name] on my Benz wheels. And it`s pretty readily available at auto supply shops. While I`m applying it, it doesn`t really look like it`s doing anything -- no "bling" that I notice while using it. But when I get done, and step back, it`s a gorgeous result. :bigups
