Hi

I have been receiving some Audi´s but I am not able to distinguish between chrome & aluminium trim and plastic imitations.

I am afraid of using chrome & aluminium polish on that surfaces.

What can I do

Thanks in advance for your advise.

Chrome will have a true "mirror-like" finish.

High-polished aluminum will have a bit more of a "yellowish" finish rather than mirror.

"Plastic Chrome" is called vacuum-metallizing and can be detected by tapping your finger-nail on the surface. It has an obvious plastic tone to it.

For both chrome and Hi-po aluminum, I use Mothers Billet Metal Polish. Best stuff I ever used.

For Vac-metallized surfaces, I use Eagle 1 20/20 glass cleaner.
