So my X5 just hit the 1 year mark - 11,000 miles later and it`s showed some signs of leather wear for awhile now.

My regimen for the seats is a wipe with a wet cloth every time I wash the car. Every 3-4 months, I`ve been using Griots Interior Cleaner 50/50 followed up by Griots Leather Cleaner.

The 1st and 2nd pics are how the seat looks when dirty. The 3rd pic depicts how they look after a wipedown with a wet cloth. It`s like small semi-circular rings that have come off the leather. I don`t know how it got damaged but I just want to fix it.

Will Leatherique leather dye do the trick. Will I be able to get successful results without applying via a air gun. I`m thinking about ordering the stuff and touching up via a foam paintbrush.

I really don`t see a lot wrong in PIC 3 that some good leather cleaner and conditioner wouldn`t fix. I don`t think you need to go as far as leather dye.

Those were pics I took today. I just dug up another picture of the seats I took about 3 months ago.

The pictures don`t really depict the problem. It looks pretty good after the inital wipedown, but give it a couple of days and those *semi circular dirt rings* show up against the beige leather pretty well.

I`ve gotta fine tune my picture taking technique. It may be the lighting but in person, those semi-circular rings I`m trying to show in my pictures are darker that they come up in the current pictures.

Is the semi-circular pattern in the same position every time?

Are the seats heated from inside?

The pattern kinda looks like half of an upholstry spring. You know the kind that is shaped like a repeating S-curve.

That lloks like on the side of the seat, there`s no spring there.

With 11,000 Miles, There is no excuse for weird wear like that. You certainly shouldnt need to dye the seats on your fairly new bimmer. I would take it to the dealer and see if they will replace the seat cover.
