These are the results I usually see using my current products. Starting from scratch I start with:

A Dawn wash, rinse, then dawn spray with clay and rinse..

Then I wash with Meguiars Gold Class Wash, rinse then dry

Then I apply Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish

Over this I recently applied 1 coat of NXT.

These are my results, pictures were taken 5 days after wax and has seen rain.

After using Zaino this is the closest I`ve been able to get with shine, but I still can`t get the depth as much.. I`ve seen Wolfgang on a local black `03 Cobra and it`s deeper then my Zaino ever was.. Just wondering what I can do to optimize both my time and my end results. Be it change the application process, and or products applied. Thanks :bow

The car is NOT garage kept, is a 99 Coba always in Florida since day one, and has over 55k miles on the clock.. so I need to put some life back in the paint. I am also looking to sell the car soon, so I`m willing to do what it takes..

Don`t like takin pics on the road, huh? :D

Car looks sharp...Good choice on the Cobra Convertible. I think the detail looks sweet.

Depending on how into detailing you are, you may want to search for a Porter Cable 7424, Meguiar`s #82 Swirl Free Polish, and Meguiar`s #83. Search a little on here for them. I have found great success with the Meguiar`s polishes for paint cleaning and defect (swirl and light scratch) removal.

It would be an excellent addition to your detailing arsenal.

Thanks for the kind words and advice.. I was thinking of getting a buffer, kinda looking for someone to point me in the right direction. I`ll keep an eye out, thanks again.

What got me to post was a thread that linked out from here to meguiars website. What seemed to be a meguiars representative did some work on a C5 corvette convertible.. he did some beautiful work on restoring the owners car to better then new. He used basic Meguiars products, if I could do something similar I would be pleased.. then maybe I could sell this baby and get a Z06 already !! :sosad

From the pics the paint looks alittle oxidized on some parts (could just be dust/water spots though)

This is what I would do:

Clay w/ Mother`s or claymajic or 3m brand clay

Polish with a light polish like Menerza (sp?) Final polish or 3M Machine Glaze or Meg`s Swirl free with the polisher (Porter cable)

Wax/Sealant- you might want to try out Meg`s NXT wax, it is a little deeper than Zaino and you can get it at walmart

btw, did you switch the rear bumper?

Zaino topped w/NXT

(gotta love the Ford orange peel...not.. :) )

Thanks for the advice, I had Zaino the pictures are with a few day old NXT.. I`ll look into the resoration.. there is some oxidation on the passenger side but the rear is just dirt.. you know how that gets after a few days of driving and some rain.

As for the rear bumper, the 99 Cobra rear says mustang.. it does have the cuts for dual exhaust.. I have a bassani street competition exhaust with turn-downs.. :D
