1. Tire dressing water based only

2. Tire dressing silicones based only

3. Tire dressing solvent based only

4. Tire dressing water based w/silicones

When searching and reading through the hundreds of threads alreading on this topic (hint hint), I found out something really interesting.

It seems that Scottwax, the patron saint of hand detailing, recommends Armor All Original, the red headed stepchild of the detailing product world, for a tire dressing.

I`ve been using EO Wet Tire Shine for the last year and a half and have been happy with it. But two weeks ago switched to the AA. And heck, I`ve got to say I like it. It hold up to the rain and makes the tires dark without shining them too much.

I picked up a $3.50 spray bottle at Lowe`s and will now start buying AA in the half gallons for $10 at Wal-Mart.

I`m not sure if I`d be able to use it through the winter. But we`re not really in winter anymore here.
