View Full Version : Cleaning side window rubber seals?

I noticed yesterday there is lots of crud built up in the felt-lined inner surface of my rubber window seals.

Now, how to get it out? I was thinking about gluing a strip of microfiber to a popsicle stick, but I think even that would be too thick. I don`t want to try bending the seal or forcing water down there into the door.

Any ideas?

By the way, if the window is rolled down all the way it is easy to get some of the seal. It is the part which the glass always touches, toward the rear, that seems impossible to clean.

Just roll the windows down and get a rag damp with warm water and wipe the inside of the seal.

I`ve used a variety of small paint brushes to whisk crud away and canned air when necessary
